The main steel structure project of Hangzhou Yinglan project undertaken by Zhongnan Steel Structure has been successfully completed
The Hangzhou Yinglan Project, located in Gongshu District, Hangzhou City, is a comprehensive urban project that integrates commercial, residential, and office functions. It covers a total area of 43810 square meters and has a total construction area of 224199 square meters. The project consists of 8 high-rise buildings (2 office buildings and 6 residential buildings) and their connected podiums, with three interconnected underground floors.

Zhongnan Steel Structure has constructed two completely mirror symmetrical B1 and B2 office buildings, with a building height of 79.8 meters and 17 above ground floors. The total construction area is 51782 square meters and the total steel consumption is about 2100 tons. The structural type of the two office buildings is frame core tube local steel structure. The steel structure consists of reinforced steel columns and cantilever steel frames. Both buildings have three rectangular box shaped cantilever parts with different orientations on the 6th to 8th, 9th to 11th, and 14th to 16th floors. Each box shaped cantilever part is composed of three rectangular prisms of different sizes, with areas of 151m ², 224m ², and 155m ² from bottom to top, respectively. The maximum cantilever span is 9.585m and the minimum cantilever span is 3.800m. The steel components include H-shaped reinforced steel columns H-shaped steel beams, box shaped beam columns, box shaped column supports, self-supporting steel truss floor slabs, and other similar structures with large overhangs and high-altitude layouts are extremely difficult to construct. However, as a commercial office use, after being put into use, office personnel can enjoy a panoramic view of the mountains through the curtain wall glass railing, which meets the aesthetic needs of modern elites. To overcome the construction difficulty of high-altitude large-span cantilever structures, the technical department has developed a detailed and feasible construction plan before the project implementation, and has passed the expert review and demonstration of the special construction plan for cantilever structure installation. Technicians also use ten new technologies, including steel structure TEKLA modeling and drawing technology, CAM manufacturing technology, thick steel plate welding technology, steel and concrete composite structure technology, and high-strength steel application technology, to analyze the key and difficult points of the project based on the construction plan, and develop various contingency plans and measures.

In response to the narrow construction site of the project, as well as the proximity to schools, apartment complexes, famous scenic spots, and surrounding roads, traffic control measures have been implemented. The project department has reasonably planned the component stacking site, internal and external transportation roads, properly arranged the construction time, and strictly controlled construction dust and noise through the installation of sprinkler dust reduction devices and construction noise signs. At the same time, due to the large amount of high-altitude cantilever operations, the project department has set up a dedicated cantilever operation platform. Double railings, kickboards, safety nets, and warning signs are installed on the platform located at the bottom of the cantilever structure on the 5th, 8th, and 13th floors. A warning line is set up on the ground and a dedicated safety officer is assigned to supervise to ensure the personal and property safety of construction personnel during the installation and welding of steel components, high-strength bolts, and floor slabs. When welding the steel beam with a maximum plate thickness of 70mm in the cantilever section on site, the project department selected experienced welding engineers and strictly followed the evaluated welding process for welding operations. A dedicated high-altitude steel structure welding protective shed was made to reduce the impact of strong winds, rain and snow weather on welding during high-altitude operations and ensure the safety of welding operations.
After more than a year of overcoming difficulties, the project successfully completed its construction task on April 30, 2020, and received unanimous praise from the general contractor, supervisor, and construction unit. It is currently actively cooperating with the general contractor to carry out the "West Lake Cup" evaluation work; After the completion of the Hangzhou Yinglan project, it will definitely shine in the architectural complex of the area and add new iconic buildings to the area.
