Date:2020/7/28 8:46:20 Popularity:111

The overall renovation project of Ningbo Xinle 220KV substation, undertaken by Zhongnan Steel Structure, has been fully completed. The project entered the site on April 15th this year, completed the installation of the main steel structure on May 6th, and completed all construction tasks of the steel structure project in early June. In the construction of this project, technicians from Zhongnan Steel Structure fully applied BIM technology to the narrow working space and complex steel component connections, improving construction efficiency and providing scientific guarantees for the smooth construction of the project.

It can be said that BIM technology has played an indispensable role in the construction of the overall renovation project of Ningbo Xinle 220KV substation, reflecting the strong practical functions of BIM technology. BIM is a tool, method, and technology applied to engineering design, construction, operation and maintenance management informationization, data structuring, integrating various project related information through parameter models, sharing and transmitting it throughout the entire life cycle of project planning, implementation, operation, and maintenance, enabling engineering and technical personnel to make correct understanding and efficient responses to various building information, and playing an important role in improving production efficiency, saving costs, and shortening construction periods. Traditional 2D design is expressed through flat drawings, with relatively isolated relationships between related disciplines and components. However, with the use of BIM technology, errors, omissions, collisions, and deficiencies that are inevitable in the design are more easily discovered. BIM modeling software is used to directly generate plan, elevation, section, 3D views, and 3D installation demonstrations to ensure consistency between the model and drawing information. BIM modeling is then applied to improve the comprehensive efficiency of prefabricated substation construction, achieving improved work efficiency and accuracy.

BIM technology has obvious advantages over traditional technology in construction operations. It can conduct comprehensive and thorough analysis and demonstration of projects, provide feasibility and scientific basis for project construction, and ensure the correct formulation of construction plans and efficient progress of construction operations at all stages; The comprehensive application of BIM technology by Zhongnan Steel Structure in the overall renovation project of Ningbo Xinle 220KV substation has played a significant role in the project implementation

1、 Applying BIM technology for phased decomposition of project construction to improve segmented installation progress and overall efficiency. Technicians use 3D modeling (BIM, Tekla) and BIM virtual construction technology to develop segmented construction plans in advance, formulate full process installation plans, and install them in combination with design and construction drawings. They accurately control the pre embedded positions of segmented steel columns, reduce the risks caused by cross construction, improve the installation accuracy of steel components, reduce deviations and various problems that may occur during subsequent installation due to deviations, and ensure the safe, efficient, and smooth progress of construction operations at all stages.

2、 Applying BIM technology to provide scientific guidance for design optimization and precise construction, achieving scientific and reasonable design, standardized and efficient construction operations. Applying BIM virtual construction technology, pre installation is carried out based on the design and construction drawings, and in a virtual reality scene, combined with design and specification requirements, the compliance and conformity of the design are checked and reviewed to detect design defects in advance and reduce rework and the impact of rework on the project schedule; And by creating engineering models, construction management personnel can become familiar with construction drawings in a relatively short period of time, and apply them based on engineering models, providing scientific basis for extracting engineering quantities, purchasing at a fixed length, low consumption production, and fine installation. Complex nodes are also made into technical disclosures with pictures and text, and pasted in the form of exhibition boards at the construction site operation positions. This not only facilitates the intuitive understanding of operators, but also provides intuitive standards for inspection and acceptance personnel, which is conducive to the rational allocation of construction areas and promotes the good implementation of safe and civilized construction on site.

3、 Applying BIM technology to improve on-site assembly rates and reduce on-site welding operations. By applying BIM technology and using BIM 3D modeling, the degree of factory production of prefabricated steel structures has been improved. During the production of steel components, pre embedded pipelines and hole positions are processed or reserved in advance, reducing on-site drilling operations and increasing on-site assembly rates. This also reduces on-site welding operations and the resulting increased safety risks, difficult quality control, and difficult anti-corrosion treatment of on-site welding. In the overall renovation project of Ningbo Xinle 220KV substation, the on-site bolt assembly rate reached over 97%, greatly reducing the amount of on-site welding, accelerating the installation progress, and ensuring the construction quality.

4、 Applying BIM technology to achieve engineering excellence goals. Through BIM technology modeling, construction management and workers can have a prior understanding of various situations during project construction, and be familiar with important safety links and parts of construction operations. This reduces the occurrence of interference and collision between steel components in horizontal or vertical positions or conflicts with ancillary structures due to complex layouts, avoids damage and rework caused by collisions of steel components, reduces safety hazards and risks caused by collisions, effectively manages construction sites, improves safety construction capabilities, reduces safety risks, and provides safe construction and civilized operation guarantees for engineering excellence.

5、 The application of BIM technology has enriched the connotation of QC activities. QC activities require innovative design and construction techniques to support them. The application of BIM technology provides favorable conditions for QC teams to carry out activities, adds broader connotations for QC members to study, explore, and master new technologies and processes, and enhances the fun and vividness of QC activities.

During the construction process of the overall renovation project of Ningbo Xinle 220KV substation, technicians from Zhongnan Steel Structure used BIM technology to detect 238 collisions between various steel components in advance, avoid 206 collisions on their own, and report 32 design revisions. This avoided design modifications during the construction process, reduced rework, saved costs, shortened the construction period, and improved construction efficiency. The comprehensive application of BIM technology in the overall renovation project of Ningbo Xinle 220KV substation has provided a reference basis for Zhongnan Steel Structure to accumulate application data, cultivate application talents, summarize application experience, and write application guidelines. It has also played a demonstration effect for Zhongnan Steel Structure to comprehensively popularize BIM technology in steel structure engineering construction projects in the future.

By comprehensively applying BIM technology to organize construction, the steel structure construction period of the overall renovation project of Ningbo Xinle 220KV substation has been shortened by about 45 days compared to projects of the same structural type, creating favorable conditions for the early implementation of the next step of the owner's work. After the completion of the steel structure project, the owner highly recognized the construction work of Zhongnan Steel Structure and wrote an article titled "What kind of 'electric' sparks will be generated when BIM is encountered in substation construction", which highly affirmed the successful application of BIM technology in the project. After the comprehensive application of BIM technology in the overall renovation project of Ningbo Xinle 220KV substation, Zhongnan Steel Structure has achieved good results and will further improve the utilization rate of BIM technology in future construction projects, allowing BIM technology to play a greater role in engineering construction and more practical effects in project construction.
