Dr. Chen Ruifeng's research topic is "Response characteristics and prediction of offshore floating wind power under the combined action of wind and waves". This project aims to achieve the dual carbon strategy goal and combines practical engineering to conduct research on the response characteristics and prediction of offshore floating wind power structures under the combined action of wind and waves. The topic is reasonable. The project established a fully coupled model of OpenFAST+AQWA, achieving high-precision simulation of floating structures. An efficient structural response prediction model based on deep learning was proposed, which combines the advantages of convolutional neural networks (CNN) and gated recurrent units (GRU) to effectively extract the coupling relationship and time dependence between various input features. Two different floating based FOWTs and three sea states were tested and analyzed. Compared with the benchmark results, the model prediction results have good accuracy, robustness, effectiveness, and reliability, significantly improving analysis efficiency and having good engineering application value.

At the review meeting, Dr. Chen Ruifeng gave a comprehensive report on his research work and achievements during his time at the station, and answered and exchanged questions raised by experts. The review panel unanimously agreed that the postdoctoral research results have good application value, fully affirmed the research value of Dr. Chen Ruifeng's project, and highly recognized his work performance during his tenure at the station. After comprehensive evaluation by the review team, it was unanimously agreed that Dr. Chen Ruifeng would successfully leave the station with an assessment level of excellent.
