Recently, Zhongnan Green Building Group won the first prize and excellent award in the 2021 "Golden Association Cup" Second National Steel Structure Industry Digital Building and BIM Application Competition jointly organized by China Construction Metal Structure Association and Henan Steel Structure Industry Association.


The purpose of this competition is to promote the application of digital twin BIM technology in the development of building informatization, deepen the practice of BIM technology in steel structure engineering, promote the development of digital twin BIM technology application in building steel structure, and achieve digital, refined, and intelligent production and management of engineering projects.

The project is located in Xinxiang City, Henan Province. It is divided into an inner field area, an outer field area, a training reserve area, apartment buildings, and related supporting facilities, including 115 individual buildings with a total area of over 300000 square meters; Involving specialties such as overall layout, runway, lighting, weak current, fire protection, oil supply, etc; The ancillary supporting facilities include power supply engineering, heating engineering, water supply and drainage fire protection engineering, digital station engineering, general layout engineering (greening, pipe trench), and basketball court, etc.


This project belongs to an irregular structure, and there may be some inconsistencies between the structural and architectural specialties, which will bring serious problems to the construction phase, including the pre embedded sleeves of mechanical and electrical pipelines. By using BIM technology to predict in advance and reporting to the design institute for modification, it brings great convenience to the construction. At the same time, the implementation of the structural and architectural specialties accounts for the largest proportion of funds, and the use of BIM can better bring cost savings.

This project is located west of Jiangxi Avenue, east of Fujian Avenue, and north of Weiyi South Road in Cangzhou City, Hebei Province. The building has a height of 57.6 meters, with 18 floors above ground for residential use and one floor underground for storage. The total construction area is over 13000 square meters, with an above ground construction area of over 12200 square meters and an underground construction area of over 840 square meters. The basement floor height is 5.2 meters, and the standard above ground floor height is 2.9 meters. This residential building has 2 units and a total of 144 households.


By constructing a BIM model of the construction site, construction simulation was carried out, and visualization was achieved through VR virtual reality technology, allowing for 360 ° viewing without blind spots. Real time monitoring of the construction site was also carried out through on-site intelligent digital monitoring equipment, enhancing the construction monitoring process and better controlling the quality and safety production of the project. Through the application of BIM technology, we realize that BIM can more conveniently examine the rationality of design schemes, detect hidden dangers in construction quality, safety, feasibility and other aspects in advance, and take effective preventive and strengthening measures, greatly reducing on-site errors, rework and waste, and playing an immeasurable role in optimizing the construction of the entire project.
