On the morning of October 27th, a seminar on the steel structure of the "Cloud Gate" project at Hangzhou West Station was successfully held at Zhongnan Green Construction. Professors and doctoral supervisors from Zhejiang University, including Tong Genshu and Tong Jingzhong, as well as the Dean of the Architecture Design Institute, Sun Huilang, and the Project Structural Design Director, Tang Wei, the Executive Vice President of the company, Wang Haishan, and the Dean of the Design Research Institute, Zhang Ke, attended the seminar.

This meeting mainly focused on the discussion and exchange of the Cloud Gate project. At the meeting, all parties reported on the project. Tang Wei, the project structural design leader, gave a special report on Cloud Gate from three aspects: design basis and technical standards, structural selection, and structural calculation analysis; The on-site person in charge of the company, Fang Bozuo, reported on the installation process of the cloud gate and provided a detailed introduction to several aspects such as the project overview, deepening plan, and on-site installation plan; Dr. Zhang Enyuan from Zhejiang University conducted a simulation study on the construction process of similar projects and introduced the simulation method for welding residual stress. After the reports from all parties are completed, discussions will be held on the Hangzhou West Station Cloud Gate project.

The meeting determined the following research content: 1. Conduct construction process analysis and construction error sensitivity analysis of complex twisted surface mesh shell structures. Analyze the construction process of the grid shell structure constructed step by step, increase or decrease the solution range of the structure in each construction stage according to the construction sequence, add corresponding boundary conditions and loads, and achieve tracking and simulation analysis of the entire construction process of the structure. Relevant research results provide reference for subsequent reasonable construction plans; 2. Conducting residual stress and deformation analysis of thick plate intersecting node welding, relevant research results can guide the welding process of thick plates.
