On June 24th, the overall upgrade of the cloud gate network structure of the Hangzhou West Station Hub South District Station City Complex, constructed by Zhongnan Green Construction Group, was successfully completed.
The Yunmen Grid Project of Hangzhou West Station Hub South District Station City Complex is located on the south side of Hangzhou West Station in Cangqian Street, Yuhang District, Hangzhou City. The total construction area is over 96000 square meters, and the structural top elevation is 81.35 meters. The "Cloud Gate", designed by Academician Cheng Taining, is an important part of the "Cloud City" of Hangzhou West Railway Station. It is intended to create a modern Jiangnan urban atmosphere for Hangzhou through the "Cloud Sea". Through the "Cloud Gate", it matches the regional characteristics of the future science and technology city where the station is located, echoes the characteristics of Hangzhou's new Internet economy city, and adds a unique modern city image to Hangzhou.
The Yunmen grid structure consists of a single-layer roof frame and a single-layer curved mesh shell at the bottom, with a total weight of approximately 4600 tons and an overall lifting weight of approximately 580 tons. The lower part of the single-layer roof frame is located at the top of the main structure of Yunmen, supported by 21 sets of branch columns and 7 sets of box shaped columns on the lower main structure. The lower single-layer mesh shell is divided into an upper opening vase shaped mesh shell and a lower irregular curved mesh shell. The edge sealed circular tube is connected to the main structure through 60 sets of small short rods, and the mesh shell is supported and fixed to the main structure through 22 sets of V-shaped braces inside. The top part of the mesh shell and the roof frame are fixedly connected as a whole at the junction of the middle opening of the aerial connection. The waist of the upper vase shaped mesh shell is connected to the aerial connection through an 8-component hinge support, and the bottom part of the mesh shell is connected to the structural foundation through a 28 component hinge support. During the hoisting of the grid structure, 12 ultra large hydraulic lifts were used to lift the entire structure to the design elevation. After being in place, they were welded and fixed to the installed lower grid shell and aerial connection.
The Yunmen grid structure is complex in form, and the processing, production, and assembly of curved components are extremely difficult. In addition, the single-layer grid shell is a hanging structure, which increases the construction difficulty significantly. Zhongnan Green Building Group used BIM construction models and other technical means throughout the construction process, orderly carried out assembly and welding operations, and completed the overall assembly of the cloud gate grid structure as planned. The overall lifting of the cloud gate grid began at 9:00 am on June 24th. Under the unified deployment and command of the on-site commander, each team strictly carried out lifting, measurement, monitoring and other work. After 10 hours of cooperation from all construction personnel, the overall lifting of the cloud gate grid was successfully completed.
The smooth completion of the overall improvement of the Yunmen grid structure has created favorable conditions for the smooth implementation of various construction work in the next step of the project, laying a solid foundation for the planned use of the southern area of the Hangzhou West Station hub.
