The swimming pool of Yancheng Sports Center, constructed by Zhongnan Steel Structure, has been successfully completed
In October 2021, the Yancheng Swimming Pool project constructed by Zhongnan Steel Structure passed the acceptance inspection and was delivered to the owner for internal decoration.
The Yancheng Swimming Pool project is located within the Yancheng Sports Stadium in the city center of Yancheng. The Yancheng Swimming Pool is designed around the cultural concept of "Yantian Crane Shadow" and integrated into the overall layout of the Yancheng Sports Center, jointly showcasing the cultural characteristics of Yancheng city. The swimming pool, sports center, gymnasium, and comprehensive training center look like the crystallization of salt from a distance, while the sports stadium resembles a red crowned crane spreading its wings and flying. The "Salt Field Crane Shadow" is reflected in the landscape pool on the north side, integrating Yancheng's representative "salt" culture and "crane" culture into the design, and reflecting the urban image of "Yancheng, a place that opens people's hearts".

The swimming pool representing the image of "Yantian" constructed by Zhongnan Steel Structure has one standard swimming pool, one training pool, and one play pool, with a total construction area of about 18000 square meters. After completion, it will be used as a venue for national and international competitions (swimming, water polo, etc.), mass sports activities, amateur and professional team training, and can accommodate 1500 people for viewing at the same time. The total amount of steel used for the truss structure of the entire steel roof of the swimming pool is about 1400 tons. It adopts a two-way orthogonal and upright truss structure system. The interior of the pool has clear criss crossing lines, while the exterior is composed of multiple sets of irregular trusses. The upper steel structure truss is connected to the lower concrete through finished fixed hinge supports. The highest point of the truss structure has an elevation of more than 23 meters, and the lowest point has an elevation of about 18 meters. Due to the significant difference in structural elevation and the large maximum span of the truss, the difficulty of hoisting has increased. Therefore, after multiple scheme demonstrations by technical personnel and expert research before hoisting, a scientifically reasonable hoisting construction plan was formulated, and the first truss hoisting was successfully completed on March 24, 2021.

During the construction process, the project strictly followed the construction lifting plan to ensure the correct positioning of each truss and the smooth implementation of the project. In the construction and installation of the largest truss with a span of 66 meters and a single weight exceeding 30 tons, a 400 ton crawler crane and a 180 ton crawler crane are used for collaborative lifting. During the construction process, the structure is monitored for deflection and other full process and all-round monitoring to ensure the accuracy of installation precision. And in the assembly and welding of the truss, strict inspection was carried out in accordance with the welding technical requirements and specifications. After the completion of the main body, it passed the quality inspection of Yancheng Construction Engineering Quality Inspection Center in one go. In the implementation of the project, due to the tight schedule, the project management team adopted a working mode of daytime lifting and nighttime assembly from the start of construction. With only 40 days of lifting time, they completed all the main and secondary truss lifting work on May 4, 2021, and received unanimous praise from relevant government departments such as the Yancheng Sports Bureau.

During the construction period of the project, the project management team took a series of safety protection measures, using temporary support frames, climbing steel ladders, fall arresters, safety piles, lifelines, cable wind ropes, flat nets, etc. to ensure the safety of the truss structure and operators. The entire lifting construction process was safe and smooth, ensuring the timely completion of the project. Zhongnan Steel Structure once again added bricks and tiles to the urban construction of Yancheng City.
